The preschool program starts as early as age 2½, if the child is toilet trained. It consists of Pre-primary, Pre-k, and Kindergarten. Children learn the basic skills using Montessori methods and materials. Typically, a 3-year-old acquires basic writing and reading skills within 6 months of attendance.
The elementary program consists of two multi grade classes. Lower Elementary includes grades 1 through 3 and Upper Elementary includes grades 4 through 6. The curriculum provides rigorous learning and a developmental environment. Students are evaluated throughout the year using Montessori tests. Students also take the Stanford Test at the end of the academic year. IMA students typically score 2—4 grades higher and rank in the top percentile.
